Accessibility is a core component of my instructional design practice. Each course I develop includes alt text, structured headings, accessible color contrast, captioned media, and design choices informed by Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to support diverse learners.
Designing Accessible and Inclusive Online Learning
Accessibility and inclusive design were integrated throughout my course redesign process. Using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and WCAG-informed practices, I developed tools and frameworks to ensure that course materials, multimedia, assessments, and navigation are usable for all learners.
Images, diagrams, and course visuals include descriptive alt text to ensure learners using screen readers can access the same information as sighted learners. Alt text descriptions focus on the instructional purpose of visuals and align with WCAG accessibility guidelines.
Accessible Syllabus Template
This syllabus template demonstrates how course documents can be designed using accessibility and Universal Design for Learning principles. The template includes structured headings, accessible tables, clear navigation, and inclusive language to support equitable access to course information.
